    How to Manage Stress for Better Fertility

    Any given individual in this world can and will experience stress at one or the other but what matters most is how one handles such situations, and particularly when an individual is aspiring to get pregnant. Stress in this regard can be defined as chronic to mean that it has adverse effects on fertility through the regulation of hormones and reproduction. Too much stress can result in the alterations in the menstrual cycle and bad sperm quality, erectile dysfunction as well. Hence, stress reduction should be employed in the management of fertility for improved success. 

    Here are some tips and tricks to manage stress for better fertility. 

    How to Reduce Stress 

    Stress-management strategies should be practised to improve fertility as well as the general health of a person. 

    Here are some strategies that you can opt for.  

    Mindfulness and Meditation 

    Mindfulness and meditation are activities that in a way work to reduce stress and act as means to help in clearing one’s head and relaxing. 

    Mindfulness is the process of being aware of the present moment and thoughts and feelings that enter the mind without passing any judgments. Relaxation exercises include visualization with the imagination and breathing exercises. 

    Physical Activity 

    Physical activities also help in decreasing stress levels as well as improving mood. Taking up exercises that do not cause the person to break down. This includes taking a walk, swimming or practising yoga since this portrays the muscles releasing endorphins, a natural stress buster.

    Deep Breathing Exercises 

    Pranayama exercises are useful for calming the nervous system and decreasing anxiety in patients.     Support Groups 

    A specific kind of group support for people who are dealing with infertility issues or a couple having infertility issues is also helpful. This comfort could be gotten from other people who go through similar rages and experiences as us or other people. 

    Professional Counseling 

    That is why it is possible to address the issue with the help of a counsellor or therapist and create proper coping strategies. Psychotherapy which includes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and other related techniques can help in stress and anxiety management.
